Summer 2006

We have had some very eventful days lately! We have been staying busy doing just about everything from working, summer school, visiting family and hosting guests to having a baby. Yes, we had our little baby Margaret Elisabeth (Maggie) on July 28th at 12:09 PM. She was born here in Searcy at the White County Medical Center and weighed in at 6 lbs, 12 oz. She looks great. To see pictures, go to http://www.mcpad.com/maggie. We had so many visitors, including Casey’s parents, Chris’ sister, Kathryn, and her family, and many of our Searcy friends. Amy Greek, whom many of you probably know, came and stayed with us for about a week before Maggie was born to help around the house and get us prepared for a new family member. Another huge blessing for us has been the generosity shown to us by Downtown church members bringing us food during these first couple of weeks with Maggie.

In June, Chris’ entire immediate family (there are about 15 of us) met for a family retreat in Tyler, Texas. Because of summer school, we were only able to stay for the first 4 days, while the rest of the family stayed for a whole week. It was a very good time of bonding for our family, especially since we all live so far apart. We are looking forward to seeing Chris’ parents and Jeremy and Martha again at the end of August. It’s such a blessing having them in the states for a while.

As I mentioned, we have been staying busy this summer. We have both been working: Casey at the Harding International Mission Internships and Chris at Harding’s ITS department. Also, Chris completed his third summer school class (the day before Maggie came he took his last exam). Now, Chris is still working and Casey is staying at home for the time being taking care of Maggie. We plan to start back to school on the 21st of August. This will be the last semester for both of us. We each are taking a light load of school, so as to be able to work and take care of Maggie.

I wish this wasn’t in the newsletter, but our computer broke down about a month ago and so we don’t have pictures right now. We just got a new computer, so our next newsletter should contain lots of pictures. So long for now. God bless you all! We love you!
