October 2006

The past month has been fairly uneventful for our family. Maggie is growing all the time. She is getting really big. It seems like everyday she does something new or looks different. We have been blessed so much to have such a wonderful baby girl.

School is going as usual. This is getting to be crunch time for Chris as his class is nearing the end. We both have been having an easier time with school lately, because some things have eased up a little bit. We are so excited to graduate! We can hardly believe the time has already come. It's wonderful! Also, work is consuming a large portion of our time. Chris works part-time and Casey works a few hours a week. This is a little unfair though, because Casey actually works a whole lot around the house, taking care of Maggie, cooking, cleaning, and all that sort of thing. I don't know what I'd do without Casey. :)

We have just decided to become members at the Cloverdale church of Christ here in Searcy. We are talking with them about being our supporting church, and thought it would be good for us to get to know the congregation more. We also have several good friends there. Speaking of support-raising, we are on the move. We have written a number of congregations, and have talked with a couple of them. We are actually going next weekend (the 12th of November) to the Central church of Christ in Huntsville, Alabama to talk with them. Please pray for us as we try to find supporting congregations. Also, we are trying to get the news out about us going to Cambodia and trying to partner with people. If you hear about anyone looking for missionaries to support, or if you hear of some interest in Cambodia, please point them in our direction or let us know.

We are enjoying hosting MAFIA (Harding's Asia Mission Fellowship) this semester. We have enjoyed some really neat speakers in the last couple of weeks: the Shacklefords going to Tibet next year, and veteran missionary David Buskirk from Papua, Indonesia. It is a real blessing for us; we're excited to see what God is going to do in Asia in the future.

Our dear friends, Rick and Karen Love, and their son Matthew, left today to go to Dallas, TX. They are starting the first phase of their transition to Zambia. They will spend time in Tennessee and Texas before leaving for Africa towards the end of next year. They are also expecting a baby girl next spring. They will be missed very much.

Well, as I mentioned, Maggie is growing like a weed. There are pictures available on our website. Please check them out.
